Clean & Simple Card Making Day 5: 1 Stamp, 3 Ways

I love tulips!

I love tulips!

I like the concept of this card, with a strong image embossed in white on a craft paper, but my execution is not there yet.

I’m not sure why the white embossing is stronger on the ends but not the center. And the white embossing powder still strayed outside the image, even though I used a dryer  sheet to reduce static cling. I guess it’s time to buy an embossing powder tool!

The tulip stamp is E8602 from Impression Obsession, and the sentiment is from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings. I used my new Inktense pencils in rose pink, orange and green to color some of the image. Then I used my Ranger detailed water pen (barely wet) to blend. I also dabbed it while it was still wet.

I will have to try a similar card in the future, hopefully with better results!

  1. Hi, also taking the CAS 2 class. My suggestion — maybe you need to press harder on the stamp to get a better impression of ink in the middle, to hold the embossing powder better? That would be my guess.

And I agree, I tried using a dryer sheet for a long time but it doesn’t really cut it. An anti-static tool really does work better.

    It’s a nice card though.
